CAP stands for Centralized Admission Process. It is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education or Government of Maharashtra. Institute has no role in allotment of these seats. Seats are allotted through online portal.

What is the difference between B.E. and B.Tech.
B.E. is Bachelor of Engineering and B. Tech is Bachelor of Technology. B. Tech is offered by autonomous institutes.

YES, Degree will be conferred by the University of Mumbai as college is an autonomous institute under Mumbai University
NIRF/ARIIA ranking and status of NBA, IIC and NISP?
NIRF is one of the indicators of quality of education. FR. CRCE has appeared in the NIRF ranking list multiple times, the recent being in the band of top 300 in the year 2020. NBA is an accreditation body. Most of the departments have been accredited by NBA. College also has been regular participant in ARIIA ranking. Institute Innovation Council (IIC) has been ranked 44th in the India West region, also it has been accorded 4 star status. NISP is very active in promoting startup ecosystem on campus.
Is there any Reservation in seats?
Reservation in seats is applicable as per the Government Rules for CAP rounds conducted by DTE. However, reservation is not applicable in institute quota seats. Institute level seats are filled strictly by merit only.
Are there any seats reserved for female candidates?

NO. NRI quota is not available
Is there any management quota apart from mentioned in DTE rules?
Last year 80% seats were filled through CAP rounds and 20% seats through Institute round. Apart from this there is no separate management quota
Who are Maharashtra candidates and who are outside Maharashtra candidates?
Please refer DTE guidelines for this. Broadly a candidature is considered as Maharashtra if he/she has studied SSC and HSC from Maharashtra, who is born in Maharashtra or domiciled in Maharashtra. Also, if parents are employee of Government of India or Gov. of India Undertaking and posted in Maharashtra.
Is the candidate’s presence compulsory while taking admission?
YES. There are three compulsory conditions during admission to institute quota and those are candidate’s presence during admission, demand draft of fees and original documents or retention letter if already admission is taken somewhere else. Please refer DTE guidelines for revised rules.
Is it mandatory to submit all required document in original?
Yes. Your admission is confirmed only when you pay the fees as applicable and submit all the required documents in original. If you don’t have all the originals while taking admission then you will be given some time to submit those documents.
What are the certificates to be attached with the application form
Refer the DTE and FRCRCE website for notification of admission along with instructions given.

What is the cut-off merit scores for different branches in FR. CRCE during last year admission process?
How is FRCRCE as compared to CoEP or VJTI or SPCE?
Truly it is not fair to compare these institutions. FRCRCE is well known Engineering College in the Maharashtra state. FRCRCE is a self-financing institution while CoEP & VJTI are Government colleges and SPCE is Government aided college.
What is important, Branch or College?
If you are clear about branch selection then college selection becomes secondary but if you are not sure about which branch to select or confused between 2 or 3 branches or ready to take up any branch then do give preference for good college. Primarily if you select good college then your peer group will also be good which matters a lot. I believe that you are not selecting the college but you are selecting your friends for your entire life
Is it possible to change the branch in second year?
Technically Yes. However, there should be vacancy at that point of time and also allotment will be on first year merit list basis. It is not recommend taking admission in a particular branch on the futuristic assumptions of changing the branch
Is it possible to change the college after first year?
YES. Please refer CET cell website for the same.
Is it possible to opt for career in another branch after completing engineering?
YES, but with few riders. You can do this during M. Tech or MS. For example, after doing B.E. in Electronics and Computer Science (ECS), you can do Post Graduation in Computer Engineering. However, you need to be careful. After doing B.E. in ECS your path for future career in other domains is not closed. This cannot be said in case of other branches
I got very less marks and not sure whether I will get admission at FRCRCE?
Do not make assumptions based on prior cut-offs. You should apply and keep patience till the last cut-off date declared by DTE. Sometimes seat may get vacant at the last moment and you may get a chance to get admitted in that vacant seat. So do not loose hopes
Will I get branch change option during admissions?
FRCRCE always gives admissions strictly based on merit in the Institute quota. So if you have applied and if seat becomes vacant in a particular stream always seat is offered from the topmost meritorious candidate. However, you have to keep an eye on admission process and vacancies
In case I have secured a seat in the round, will I get consideration in subsequent rounds for betterment/ up-gradation?
YES, subject to vacancy position at that time and as per merit.
I have not applied at FRCRCE and admission process is over. Now will I get seat at FR. CRCE?
No. Once admission process is over (means cut-off date is over) then there is no further scope for admissions. However, you should always see notifications by DTE.

What is the fee of B.Tech. program at FR. CRCE?
For academic year 2024-25, Fees sanctioned by FRA is Rs. 1,81,000/- + University Processing Fees for First year B.Tech. Programs.
Does the tuition fee remain same till the completion of the course?
YES. Tuition fees remain same during four years of study.
Is it mandatory to pay tuition fees in one installment only, every year?
YES.
Am I eligible for any kind of scholarship or concession in fees?
YES. You are entitled for scholarship / concession fees depending upon the category / caste of the candidate and subject to the condition that you should have been admitted through CAP rounds only. Apart from Government scholarship schemes, many private scholarships are also available for which you need to approach appropriate scholarship giving agency/institution.
Can I get an Educational loan?
YES, several Banks offer Education Loans for payment of fees. Please contact Banks nearby you for more details in this regard.
Which are the nearest banks to campus?
Union Bank is located nearest to the campus. There are many banks on the Hill Road in near vicinity of the college.
When education loan is sanctioned by the Bank, I will get it or the Bank sends it to the college?
Is there any capitation fee or donation to be paid apart from fee approved by FRA?
NO. There is no donation. Whatever fee is approved by ‘Fee Approving Authority’ (FRA) and University Fees need to paid while taking admission.
What are college timings?
College remains open on all the days except second and fourth Saturdays. Administrative office remains open from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. Classes starts at 8.45 am and ends at 3.30 pm. However we expect student to take part in many curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular, sports and cultural activities after college hours.
How are the academic results of college?
At FR. CRCE academics are very well planned and executed thus our academic results are excellent. In all branches it is 98 to 100%.

I am from vernacular medium and therefore afraid of joining Engineering College at Bandra in Mumbai.
Do not get afraid of joining an engineering college in Mumbai just because you studied in Vernacular medium. We have facilities and courses to improve your communication and soft skills.
How are the teachers at FR. CRCE?
The teachers are very well qualified and dedicated. Many of them are Ph.D. or doing their Ph.D. All teachers are very helpful and proactive.
What are the different courses offered at FR. CRCE?
B.E. in four branches namely Computer Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Mechanical Engineering. M.E. is offered in Mechanical (CAD/CAM) and Ph.D. Programs are offered in Mechanical Engineering and Electronics Engineering.
Which branch I should opt for?
It is your choice and passion. All branches are treated equally at FR. CRCE.
What is the difference in ETRX and ECS?
Electronics Engineering: This is broad field with focus on circuit analysis, circuit design, simulation, implementation and testing. You learn PCB design, Digital and Analog Electronics, Integrated Circuits, SignalProcessing, Microelectronics, Communication, Robotics, power electronics, Consumer Electronics etc.
Electronics and Computer science: This branch has its focus on important aspect of Electronics Engineering as well as computer engineering. 70 to 80% courses are common to computer Engineering. As the name suggest you learn courses relevant to electronics and computer engineering to greater extend.
What is the difference in Computer Engineering and AI and DS?
Though an AI & DS and computer engineering degrees can both prepare you for jobs in the tech field, they prepare you with slightly varied skill sets. Computer engineering involves more independent work creating computer programs and applications, using algorithms and writing code. It is about usingmathematics to program systems to run more efficiently, including in design and development. While Artificial Intelligence & Data Science are the two most important technologies in the world today. While Data
Science makes use of Artificial Intelligence in its operations, modeled after the natural intelligence possessed by humans, Artificial Intelligence is the algorithmic intelligence that is possessed by the machines to perform various autonomous actions. Data Science is a multi-disciplinary field that has conquered industries around the world. We have become part of a data-driven society and data has become a necessity for industries to make informed decisions.

YES, we encourage you to take online certification courses.
Can I decide my learning curve at FR. CRCE?
Yes of course. You have many electives, honors and minors courses which you can take during your studies. In fact, there are few courses related to other branches which you can opt for.
How is the learning environment at FR. CRCE?
Having very good faculty and peers make the learning joyful. As meritorious students take admission at FR. CRCE mostly students are studious and co-operative. Academics are carried out 100% and there is continuous evaluation so that students are not burdened with only one final examination. All class rooms are in ambient condition and laboratories are well equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

Located at the picturesque Bandstand, the view from the campus is awesome as you get the unobstructed view of the Arabian sea and the Bandra-Worli sea link. YES. You will get to learn emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Robotics, IoT etc. There is core, elective and optional courses. Also, there many student bodies which conduct activities related to emerging technologies.
How is the sports culture?
We believe in overall development of students. The Sports are played round the year. In fact, there are credits given to the University Level participants or winners of sports. We conduct a week-long sports festival every academic year.
How is the culture of research and development in the Institute?
At FR. CRCE we have a good research culture in very wide domain of specializations ranging from IoT, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, Robotics, Computing Applications to communication & VLSI. Placement policy is same for all branches. In most of the companies students from all branches are eligible to apply; except few depending on the job profile.

FRCRCE has introduced honors and minor B.E. degree program from academic year 2022 -23. Following is the list of programs Blockchain, Cyber security, Robotics, 3-D printing, AI and ML. Data science, IoT.

College is associated with many industries not only for placement but for training programs, lab development, curriculum delivery etc.
Do you have hostel at FR. CRCE?
Yes, At Kalina, Santacruz (East) closer to the college at Bandra. This Hostel facility is available for outside Maharashtra state (J & K) candidates
Are there any accommodation facilities nearby college?
Yes. There are few private apartments and guest houses. You need to find accommodation on your own. However, if any help is required, institute will try to help you.
How are the safety and security facilities at FR. CRCE and on campus?
Security guards on the gates and inside campus at prominent places are present 24X7, ID check is done at entry of campus, on campus CCTV and thermal scanning during pandemic. Institute is secured through CCTV, Fire Safety Equipment.

YES. we do have internet facility. The internet is available in all computer laboratories, Library and internet center
Do you have transport facilities?
No. As college is located 3 -4 km from Bandra Station on west side from where you have good frequency of buses (Bus No 211) alternately autos ply to and fro. Hence there is no need for separate transport facility.
How is the library facility?
The college has central library open from morning 8.30 am to late evening 7.00pm. There are hardbound books as well as e-books available for reading and reference. There are many national and international journals subscribed by the library. It has Internet center, computing facility and a book bank facility.
