Outreach programmes play a significant role in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, it is essential for students to gain exposure to emerging tools, platforms, and real-world applications beyond the traditional curriculum. These programmes provide students with opportunities to learn from reputed national and international organizations, develop practical skills, and stay updated with the latest technological advancements in areas such as geospatial technology, cloud computing, and digital skills. Such initiatives enhance students’ employability, encourage innovation, and prepare them to meet global industry standards.
The primary objective of conducting these outreach programmes is to provide students with advanced knowledge and hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies through collaborations with reputed organizations like ISRO, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google. These programmes aim to enhance students’ technical competencies, promote skill development in areas such as cloud computing, geospatial technologies, and digital tools, and encourage them to pursue research and innovation. Additionally, the programmes intend to create awareness about industry expectations, strengthen problem-solving abilities, motivate them to pursue professional certifications that strengthen their career prospects.

One-Year Accelerated Diploma in Production Engineering – CSR Initiative with Godrej
Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (Fr. CRCE), Bandra, in collaboration with the Agnel Institute of Technology Training and Entrepreneurship Development Department (AITTD), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Godrej & Boyce to conduct a One-year Accelerated Diploma in Production Engineering for workforce technicians at the Dahej plant, Gujarat, as part of a CSR initiative.
This program is designed to empower shop-floor technicians by enhancing their technical and managerial competencies, thereby enabling them to transition into supervisory and managerial roles. It also serves as a valuable platform for faculty and academicians to upgrade their knowledge through exposure to real industrial practices, including methodologies such as SMED, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
The curriculum is comprehensive, incorporating:
A notable outcome of the initial sessions has been a positive shift in the mindset of participants. Many of these employees have spent over 25 years on the shop floor with limited access to higher education. The program is helping them rediscover learning, build confidence, and actively engage in structured knowledge development.
Overall, this initiative is not only contributing to workforce upskilling and career progression, but also strengthening the industry–academia partnership, fostering mutual growth and knowledge exchange.
In the rapidly evolving technological landscape, it has become imperative for faculty members to continuously update their knowledge and synchronize academic instruction with current industry practices. Bridging the gap between academia and industry empowers educators to deliver relevant, application-oriented learning experiences to students. To fulfill this objective, a Faculty Engagement Program was organized to provide teachers with advanced insights into emerging technologies such as Cloud Computing, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), and Machine Learning. The initiative aimed to enhance faculty members’ technical competence, integrate industry perspectives into classroom pedagogy, and ultimately strengthen students’ employability and innovation skills.
The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Rohit Durai, Vice President, JPMorgan Chase, who highlighted the objectives and importance of the engagement program. He also introduced the principal of FRCRCE, Dr. Surendra Singh Rathod and participating faculty members representing various engineering institutions.
The first session, held on 26th April 2025, focused on Cloud Computing. Participants gained a deep understanding of modern cloud architectures, virtualization, and distributed computing models. Key concepts such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) were discussed through real-world case studies and practical demonstrations. The session emphasized crucial aspects including cloud security, scalability, and cost optimization in enterprise environments. The hands-on exposure and expert insights effectively connected theoretical foundations with practical applications, enabling faculty members to better guide students in cloud-based research and project development.
The second session on Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), conducted on 14th June 2025, underscored the significance of designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. Participants explored topics such as cognitive models, usability testing, accessibility standards, and emerging trends in User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design. The session encouraged faculty members to adopt a human-centered approach to technology design, ensuring inclusivity and responsiveness to diverse user needs. Interactive activities and design-thinking exercises provided participants with valuable experiential learning, helping them effectively translate HCI principles into classroom teaching and student projects.
The final session on Machine Learning, organized on 2nd August 2025, introduced participants to key machine learning paradigms, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques such as regression, classification, and clustering. Trainers demonstrated the implementation of ML models on real-world datasets and discussed their integration with cloud-based platforms. The session highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics in addressing complex industrial challenges, inspiring faculty members to foster project-based and research-oriented learning among students in this rapidly expanding domain.
The following faculty’s from our college alongwith principal were present as part of Faculty Engagement Program (FEP), spearheaded by the External Engagement Committee at JPMC Mumbai Tech Center for University Engagement.
The Faculty Engagement Program, held at JPMorgan Chase, Nirlon Knowledge Park, Western Express Highway, Goregaon East, Mumbai, served as an exceptional platform for academic–industry collaboration. The faculty members attended has expressed their sincere gratitude to the JPMorgan Chase for organizing such sessions and Fr. CRCE Management, Principal, and Head of the Department for their constant encouragement, cooperation, and support, which enabled their participation and successful completion of the program. Such initiatives play a crucial role in ensuring that the teaching fraternity remains at the forefront of technological advancements and continues to impart industry-relevant education to students.
